Lavabo Sets | Bowl and Pitcher Set | Mandatum | H-227

On the night before He died, Christ rose from supper, girded Himself with a towel, and washed the feet of His disciples. He gave them an example of humble, self-giving love and told them to do as He had done. Each Holy Thursday, the Church renews this act in the Mandatum during the Mass of the Lord's Supper.

Our Mandatum sets are made in Europe and bring dignity to this moving rite. Each set includes a generously sized pitcher and a wide, stable basin, designed for the practical demands of the ceremony. The pitcher pours a steady, controlled stream, and the basin has room enough to receive both the water and the foot of each person whose feet are washed. Available in solid brass to harmonize with your sanctuary furnishings and Holy Week appointments.

The Mandatum is celebrated only once a year, but its meaning reaches across the whole Christian life. A beautifully crafted set honors the solemnity of the Triduum. It also makes a meaningful memorial gift or donation to your parish.
